The History of the CUMULUS CONVENTION
The CUMULUS CONVENTION was foundet by the first german
CF national team in 1982 to get more skydivers involved in
canopy formation skydiving. That happend in Z-Hills at their
first raining camp and was inspired by the Freakbrother Convention.
The first meeting was a 2-way scramble competition with one
experianced CReW-jumper and one novice making a speed stack
and shooting accuracy on landing. Then it became a 3-way to 4-way
scramble with teams drawn from 3 pools of different experiance.
To become a Cumulus member you have to be in a 4-way formation
with two Cumulus members and dock 4th on it.
Soon the beer drinking upside down and the spin test were introduced
to the ceremony of becoming a member.
In recent years there have been hardly any newcomers to the meetings
and so I want to give the convention a new sence.
The idea is to keep the CF community in touch and continue the good
tradition of flying bigger formations.
If we find enough CReWdogs in Europe who are interested and willing
to commit themseves we will start a serious European Record Project.
